Yousra Aafer is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Purdue University, with interest in mobile systems security. She received her M.S. in Computer Engineering and Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Syracuse University and was advised by Professor Wenliang Du. Her graduate and current postdoctoral research focuses on investigating security aspects of the decentralized Android customization process and building secure solutions to help vendor regulate their conducted customization. The results of her published research have directly benefitted leading mobile vendors such as Samsung, LG, and Sony in identifying and addressing several vulnerabilities caused by customization. She was elected as a member of the ACM’s Future of Computing Academy. She received her B.S. in Computer Science at Al Akhawayn University, Morocco.
